Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight accurately and securely, ensuring cargo protection during transit.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily logs and delivery paperwork in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Navigate efficiently through New Orleans and surrounding routes, managing time zones and traffic patterns.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients and warehouse personnel.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle damage immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and occasional overtime.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and mechanical issues.
