Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans to deliver freight across the island.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring cargo security.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and documentation as required by federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to strict schedules and routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in freight or truck driving.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed.
