Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy dump trucks to transport loose materials, dirt, and gravel to various job sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Secure loads properly using tarps and straps to prevent shifting during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding schedules and route changes.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to all traffic laws and OSHA safety regulations.
- Unload materials at job sites using dump gates, plows, or forklifts as required.
- Keep the cab and truck interior clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy straight trucks.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy loads and performing manual tasks.
- Strong knowledge of the Greater Boston area traffic patterns and routes.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor truck maintenance checks.
