Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport goods to designated locations in and around Buffalo, NY.
- Inspect vehicle before, during, and after trips to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate logs (Driver's Daily Log) and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any route changes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no DUIs or major traffic violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent time management and navigation skills.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks during loading/unloading.
