Your Role
As a Freight Driver for SwiftTrans, you will be the face of our brand, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight across the region. You will operate a clean, modern fleet and enjoy a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Operate commercial trucks and vans in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load & Unload Freight: Safely load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring items are secured and protected from damage.
- Route Management: Plan routes efficiently using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to DOT hours of service regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery receipts, mileage logs, and inspection reports.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, resolving any delivery issues and maintaining a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- CDL License: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3-5 years).
- Experience: Previous experience in freight driving or logistics is preferred but not always required for qualified candidates.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and navigation systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
