Job Summary
We are looking for Class A or Class B drivers to handle local and regional freight deliveries. Your primary focus will be ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transport of goods to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently within the Detroit metro area and regional routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and security.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours (HOS), delivery logs, and vehicle mileage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues.
- Keep the truck and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) on file.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods during loading/unloading.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting purposes.
