Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local and regional freight delivery
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
- Manage route optimization and timely delivery of time-sensitive shipments
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic maintenance documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding shipment status
- Track mileage, fuel consumption, and expenses for accurate reporting
- Build long-term relationships with commercial clients in the Chula Vista area
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience with box trucks
- Proof of commercial liability insurance ($1M minimum)
- Reliable box truck (2010 or newer, 26ft max length)
- Strong knowledge of San Diego County roadways and logistics hubs
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
- Basic accounting knowledge for independent contractor responsibilities
