Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Freight Driver to operate commercial vehicles in the greater Jersey City area and surrounding regions. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of freight, ensuring cargo integrity and maintaining the highest safety standards on the road.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and trailers in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
- Load and secure cargo accurately to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and traffic laws at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) issued by the state of New Jersey.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current DOT medical card and DOT drug screen clearance.
- Clean driving record (no DUIs or serious traffic violations within the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement procedures.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
