Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across New York metropolitan area
- Maintain meticulous delivery logs and compliance documentation
- Inspect vehicles for safety and mechanical soundness before/after routes
- Coordinate with dispatch team for optimal route planning and timing
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
- Secure and verify cargo according to industry standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Basic understanding of freight handling and securing techniques
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings
