Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes following all traffic laws and district protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of buses to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain accurate attendance records and student manifests
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Enforce bus safety rules and provide positive student guidance
- Adhere to strict maintenance schedules and reporting procedures
- Respond professionally to emergency situations per training protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Clear criminal background check and driving record
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings and afternoons)
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training provided)
- Experience working with children preferred
