Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across Virginia and neighboring states
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations and implement strict safety protocols at all times
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient route planning and timely deliveries
- Load/unload freight using proper equipment and safety techniques
- Document delivery status and resolve any transit discrepancies promptly
- Build strong client relationships through professional communication
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience with hazmat endorsement preferred
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation
- Strong knowledge of Virginia traffic laws and interstate routes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
