Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport construction materials (gravel, asphalt, demolition debris) to/from job sites
- Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Load/unload materials safely using proper equipment and techniques
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, foremen, and site supervisors
- Manage delivery schedules and maintain timely arrivals
- Basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues during operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating dump trucks in construction/industrial settings
- Clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of Chicago metro area roads and construction zones
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
