Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently to designated delivery points.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure full compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads according to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and manage all delivery paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading and unloading operations at various terminals.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes and delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement methods and DOT compliance regulations.
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging and documentation management.
