Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport goods across designated routes
- Perform thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections and vehicle maintenance checks
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Load/unload cargo using proper equipment and safety protocols
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status and potential delays
- Adapt to changing schedules and weather conditions while maintaining on-time deliveries
- Represent Swift Transportation professionally at all customer locations
Qualifications
- No commercial driving experience required – we provide full CDL training
- Valid Class A or Class B learner's permit (or ability to obtain one)
- Clean driving record with no major violations (DUIs, reckless driving)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb into/onto truck trailers
- Basic math skills for weight distribution and documentation
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety-first practices
