Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and vans to deliver freight on time and in perfect condition.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling, ensuring weight distribution is correct.
  • Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations, maintaining a clean driving record at all times.
  • Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and route changes.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and organized, including the cab and cargo area.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (or a clean driving record with the willingness to obtain a CDL through our training program).
  • Must be at least 21 years old for interstate commerce.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle checks and tire pressure adjustments.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
