Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing cargo with straps and chains.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records, delivery receipts, and mileage reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
- Conduct daily vehicle cleanliness and minor maintenance checks to prevent mechanical issues.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) regulations as applicable.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Card and DOT physical examination card.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Strong knowledge of road maps and ability to navigate efficiently in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to loading and securing cargo.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen.
