Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently on local and regional routes.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring weight distribution and safety.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Uphold a clean driving record and demonstrate defensive driving techniques at all times.
- Ensure the cargo is secured properly and remains in good condition throughout the transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Card).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement procedures.
- Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license.
