Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) safely and efficiently on local and regional routes between Jacksonville and North Carolina.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring the protection of goods during transit.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure a 100% safety record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (no DUIs, reckless driving, or major moving violations in the last 3-5 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus but not required; we offer training.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
