Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads for transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, and any issues encountered on the road.
- Conduct regular safety checks and report any mechanical issues to maintenance immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- DOT Medical Card certification is mandatory.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
