Responsibilities
- Safely transport goods to designated destinations adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and proper maintenance.
- Load and unload cargo securely using appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours (HOS) and delivery records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedules and any delivery issues.
- Keep the cargo area and vehicle interior clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overnight shifts if required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for identifying minor vehicle issues.
