Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers on highways and local routes within the Washington DC area and beyond.
- Load and unload cargo safely using proper equipment, ensuring cargo security and proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DVIR) and electronic logging devices (ELD) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Uphold the company's high standards for safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience is preferred, but we will train the right candidates with a clean record.
- Current DOT Medical Card and DOT drug screen clearance.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and navigation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
