Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently operate Class A commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) to transport freight across regional and long-haul routes.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle and cargo to ensure safety compliance and prevent damage before and after each shift.
- Load & Unload Freight: Utilize proper lifting techniques and secure cargo using straps, chains, and bars to ensure it arrives at its destination safely.
- Maintain Compliance: Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rules.
- Customer Service: Deliver professional service to our customers, including accurate delivery documentation and handling billing inquiries.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Report mechanical issues immediately and perform routine maintenance checks to keep the vehicle in peak operating condition.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A License: Must possess a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) with the proper endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Doubles/Triples preferred but not required).
- Driving History: Must have a clean driving record (MVR) and be insurable under our company’s policy.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps, delivery schedules, and safety manuals.
- Work Ethic: Strong willingness to learn, a professional attitude, and a commitment to safety and on-time delivery.
- Eligibility: Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
