Responsibilities
- Operate heavy dump trucks safely and efficiently on various job sites throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
- Load and unload construction materials (gravel, soil, asphalt) using heavy machinery or forklifts.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and documentation.
- Navigate complex traffic patterns and construction zones with precision.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements.
- Current and valid DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience.
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia roadways.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude for basic truck maintenance.
- Proven track record of a clean driving record.
