Responsibilities
- Operate heavy dump trucks safely and efficiently on various job sites throughout Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley.
- Perform daily pre-trip, post-trip, and general mechanical inspections of the truck and trailer.
- Load and unload materials (gravel, sand, asphalt, dirt) using forklifts, loaders, or hand tools as required.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab, bed, and surrounding work area.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding route changes or schedule adjustments.
- Assist with minor yard maintenance and equipment support when not in active driving mode.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, defensive driving techniques, and traffic laws.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and reference check.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and rugged terrain.
- Current Medical Certificate (if Class A/B required).
