Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport loose materials such as soil, rock, sand, and asphalt to designated construction sites.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently using skid steers, forklifts, or manual labor as directed by the site supervisor.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean driving record and strictly adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, site managers, and crew members regarding route changes, project status, and delays.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and ensuring the bed is clean before and after hauling.
- Keep the cab and truck interior clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving heavy dump trucks in a construction or industrial environment.
- Ability to read maps and follow GPS navigation systems accurately.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials, climbing in and out of the cab repeatedly, and working in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to submit to a background check and a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety-first driving practices.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
