Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy dump trucks to transport materials such as soil, rock, gravel, and asphalt throughout Irvine and Orange County.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, shovels, or front-end loaders, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and adhere to all DOT regulations and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Keep the truck and equipment clean and in good working condition at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of GPS navigation and route planning software.
