Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently on various job sites throughout San Jose and the Bay Area.
- Load and unload construction materials (dirt, rock, asphalt) using skid steers, loaders, or hand tools.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure full safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required by Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and dispatch to coordinate daily schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving heavy dump trucks.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and traffic control signs.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as project demands require.
