Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport loose materials (sand, gravel, asphalt, and dirt) to and from job sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, skid steers, or manual labor, ensuring proper weight distribution for safety.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict adherence to federal hours-of-service rules.
- Navigate Honolulu traffic and scenic routes efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site foremen, and team members regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Maintain a clean and professional driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 2-5 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks or heavy hauling vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and traffic laws specific to the State of Hawaii.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps, GPS systems, and delivery orders accurately.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor, including loading/unloading and bending/lifting.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety and punctuality.
