Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial freight trucks on designated routes within Detroit and the surrounding region.
- Load and unload cargo utilizing forklifts and securing straps to ensure 100% safety standards.
- Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate digital logs (ELD) and all necessary delivery documentation.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and customers regarding traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement procedures and DOT regulations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
