Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Operate commercial Class A trucks in a safe, legal, and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and Secure Cargo: Properly load, secure, and verify the condition of cargo to ensure damage-free delivery.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Perform thorough daily vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients at delivery points, maintaining a positive company image.
- Maintain Records: Accurately complete and maintain daily logs (DVIR), delivery receipts, and other required documentation.
- Route Management: Navigate efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimize fuel consumption.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a valid CDL Class A with the appropriate endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Double/Triple Trailer are a plus).
- Driving History: Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, pass a DOT physical exam, and meet vision and hearing standards.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and delivery orders.
- Tools: Ability to utilize electronic logging devices (ELD) and mobile apps for reporting.
