Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport loose materials (sand, gravel, dirt, etc.) to and from job sites.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently using forklifts or skid steers, ensuring cargo is secure.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each shift to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, and crew members.
- Perform minor preventative maintenance checks (tire pressure, fluid levels).
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (Hazmat or Tanker preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving heavy dump trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physically fit to perform manual tasks, including lifting and bending, and endure long hours on the road.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and time management skills.
