Responsibilities
- Operate heavy dump trucks to transport materials such as dirt, gravel, sand, and debris to designated sites.
- Secure loads properly using tarps and chains to ensure safety and prevent spillage.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic driver's logs (ELD) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Drive in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks.
- Clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3 years).
- Physically fit to perform manual labor, including loading/unloading and lifting heavy items.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adhere to strict safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting is a plus.
