Job Overview:
As a CDL Class A Driver for Apex Transport, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to our clients. We value professionalism, reliability, and customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and security of cargo and the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Maintain accurate logs (DVIR, logs, and delivery receipts) and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Uphold a professional image and maintain a clean driving record at all times.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to identify and report any mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Basic English reading and writing skills for log entry and communication.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong commitment to safety and time management.
