Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport construction materials, soil, and debris to and from job sites efficiently.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload trucks safely, utilizing proper techniques to protect cargo and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to prevent accidents and ensure a safe worksite.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or similar heavy commercial vehicles.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of weight limits, load securement, and traffic regulations in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
- Physically fit with the ability to handle loading duties and sit for extended periods.
