Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles (vans, box trucks, or tractor-trailers) to transport goods to designated locations in and around New Orleans.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring all items are handled with care and properly secured.
- Verify and collect signatures for delivery, ensuring accurate customer information and proof of delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior, including regular cleaning and pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies to ensure a accident-free driving record.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve any delivery issues professionally and promptly.
- Route packages efficiently to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or standard driver's license depending on vehicle type.
- A clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50-100 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong sense of direction and navigation skills; familiarity with the New Orleans area is highly preferred.
- Basic computer literacy for logging deliveries and managing paperwork.
- Reliable vehicle (if driving personal car) or availability to use company fleet.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
