Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver packages to residential and commercial addresses in the Indianapolis metro area.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Inspect delivery vehicles daily, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring packages are handled with care and communicating professionally with clients.
- Accurately log delivery information into the handheld delivery management system (GPS tracking).
- Manage time effectively to ensure on-time deliveries while maintaining a safe driving record.
- Collect payments or obtain signatures as required for COD (Cash on Delivery) or signature confirmation orders.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or a valid State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a professional environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and load/unload packages from the vehicle.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate unfamiliar routes using GPS technology.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and flexible to work weekends or holidays if required.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and electronic logging.
