Responsibilities
- Safely operate: Operate commercial tractor-trailer equipment over long distances (OTR) while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Log Management: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Customer Service: Deliver freight to designated customer locations on schedule, ensuring cargo is handled with care and integrity.
- Communication: Maintain constant communication with dispatch and customers regarding load status, delays, and delivery instructions.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) required.
- Clean Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Experience: 1+ years of OTR driving experience preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply with a sponsor.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, push, pull, and reach with frequent bending, squatting, and twisting.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and criminal background check.
- Equipment: Own or reliable access to a DOT compliant logbook and paperwork.
