Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 trucks for multi-day routes between DC and major East Coast hubs
- Complete pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations and HOS compliance
- Coordinate with dispatch for load scheduling and route optimization
- Communicate with clients regarding delivery status and special requirements
- Document shipment details and handle necessary paperwork
- Participate in quarterly safety training sessions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years OTR experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Flexibility for regional overnight trips (3-5 days)
- Excellent communication and time management skills
