Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and comply with all DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient loading/unloading and schedule adherence
- Implement defensive driving techniques to protect cargo and ensure on-time delivery
- Document transportation incidents and submit required paperwork promptly
- Participate in ongoing safety training and equipment certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable OTR driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and substance screening
- Proficiency in electronic logging device (ELD) systems
- Strong understanding of HOS regulations and route optimization
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside repairs
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
