Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe, legal, and efficient manner to deliver cargo to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload freight safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery times, mileage, and cargo condition using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Uphold a professional image at all times while representing the company.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road conditions, and safe driving practices.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic computer skills for logging and paperwork management.
- Ability to lift and move cargo weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
