Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport and deliver freight to designated routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) while ensuring safety.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and comply with DOT regulations.
- Interact professionally with customers to resolve delivery issues and ensure satisfaction.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety protocols strictly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in local route driving preferred.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) and no major violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict delivery schedules.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor vehicle checks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
