Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A vehicles to deliver cargo to designated stops in a safe and timely manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring cargo is secured and protected during transport.
- Manage delivery documentation, including bills of lading, logs, and mileage reports.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and resolving delivery issues.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes or delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in local route driving or trucking.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
