Responsibilities
- Operate commercial tractor-trailers on scheduled routes between Charlotte, NC and Washington DC, ensuring timely and safe delivery of freight.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and identify any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring weight distribution and securing loads according to DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and electronic documentation for all trips.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS), and cargo securement rules.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by route schedules.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting purposes.
