Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, strictly adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual handling equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver logs, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery paperwork.
- Deliver freight to designated locations within the New Orleans metro area and surrounding regions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or special instructions.
- Ensure the security of cargo and the cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, road conditions, and geography of the Greater New Orleans area.
- Willingness to work flexible night shift hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy for logging duties and using onboard navigation systems.
