Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and trailers on assigned regional routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement according to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and route changes.
- Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Current DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner’s Certificate) or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, HOS (Hours of Service), and logbook compliance.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and DOT physical examination.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including nights and weekends as needed.
