Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A CDL) to deliver freight safely and efficiently to designated locations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and documentation, including Hours of Service (HOS) and delivery receipts.
- Ensure cargo is loaded, secured, and protected against damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve any routing or delivery issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state trucking regulations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to lift and move cargo weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
