Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Operate commercial Class A vehicles in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Cargo Handling: Properly load, secure, and unload cargo to ensure product integrity and driver safety during transit.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards before and after each shift.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork, including daily logs (ELD), delivery receipts, and incident reports.
- Customer Service: Represent Prime Transport professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction during stops and deliveries.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must hold a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) from the state of Indiana.
- Clean MVR: Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, good manual dexterity, and the ability to sit for extended periods.
- Documentation: Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and possess a valid medical card.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and delivery instructions.
