Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks and vans on local and long-haul routes adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maintenance Checks: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in peak condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Cargo Handling: Secure freight accurately, load and unload cargo with care, and verify delivery accuracy against shipping manifests.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of hours of service (ELD), mileage, and delivery logs in compliance with DOT/FMCSA standards.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and dispatch teams to ensure timely deliveries and high customer satisfaction.
- Route Planning: Utilize GPS and mapping tools to optimize delivery routes and manage time efficiently.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a current and valid Commercial Driver’s License.
- Clean Driving Record: Minimum of 2 years verifiable driving history with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, etc.).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination demonstrating the ability to operate a commercial vehicle safely.
- Experience: Proven experience in truck driving, logistics, or related transportation sectors.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use handheld scanners and computer systems.
