Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (trucks, vans) safely and efficiently in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and necessary paperwork, including bills of lading.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding route changes and delivery updates.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and company procedures to minimize risk and ensure cargo integrity.
- Represent Apex National Transport professionally at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Experience in long-haul or regional truck driving preferred (minimum 1 year).
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are a plus.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Reliable vehicle and valid DOT medical card.
