Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A) to deliver freight to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and mechanical condition of the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Maintain accurate logs (DOT/HOS) and complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical) and proof of insurance.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience.
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
